Weeds are just flowers in the the wrong place. If you worry about this sort of thing, they can be destroyed using hot air blasters (a bit like an out of control hair drier), no need to use chemical weed killers.

I have never worried about weeds and have allowed my grass to grow naturally and now have wild orchids, primroses, cowslips and other local plants as well as wild native strawberries in my hazel, holly and crab-apple hedgerow. Plenty of natural food for the birds.
