In response to: Where Would We Be With No Local Plan to Protect the Green Belt?

We had a Local Plan that protected the green belt. Then Cllr Spooner came along.

He and his allies created a conclusions-based evidence base designed to show that we did not need the green belt to protect our villages.

Mr Spooner then railroaded through his new Local Plan days before an election, which he emphatically lost.

His new Plan has removed large swathes of land from the green belt. Guildford has removed more land from its green belt than any other borough in England.

Where would we be without Mr Spooner’s Local Plan?

Much better off.
