Letter: Will the New Independents Form Part of the Opposition?

In response to: Independent Councillors Claim Power is Too Concentrated As They Form a Political Group

It’s always good to see people acting according to their conscience, whether in politics or otherwise.

However, it would be useful for readers to know whether the new Independent group actually intends to be part of the opposition at Millmead.

If so, on what level can we expect the group to be engaging with and working together with the other three opposition parties?

Or, do they intend, as former Conservatives, to remain broadly aligned to their original party’s manifesto and policies without being subject to the Executive whip?
