Two pedestrians – a man and a woman – were taken to hospital with serious injuries this afternoon (May 14) following a collision involving a car.
Police were called to the incident on the A323 Aldershot Road, Guildford, near the junction with Fairlands Avenue at 12.20pm. Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses.
The woman was transported to hospital by air ambulance, where she remains in a life-threatening condition. Her next of kin have been informed.
A 37-year-old man from Gomshall has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving uninsured.
At 4.30pm the Aldershot Road remained closed southbound, towards Guildford, from the roundabout with Holly Lane to Gravetts Lane.
By 6.30pm the road had fully re-opened.
