Following a successful pilot scheme last year, Ash Citizens Advice Bureau is resuming a family mediation service on the last Wednesday of each month (starting August 19) in conjunction with Surrey Family and Mediation Services, a registered charity and a not-for-profit organisation.
It is aimed at couples who are separating or going through divorce as well as parents or grandparents who are trying to make arrangements for access to children or grandchildren.
The service offers impartial, confidential, and practical help.
Mediation can help people see through the confusion and find ways to come to a mutually acceptable agreement. People can be seen on their own or with their partner.
The mediation service operates once a month on Wednesday afternoon and appointments are available at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
The service is free if you are eligible for Legal Aid – your mediator will assess this for you.
If you are interested in booking an appointment, call in at Ash CAB. You can drop into the bureau between 9.30am and 1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to discuss this with one of its advisers or call 01252 315569, or by email: ashcab@cabnet.org.uk
