Guildford Flames have announced several signings in May.

American Defenceman Nate Kallen will return to EIHL this season as a member of the Flames blue line group.

The 28 year old made his UK debut in 2023-24 with Glasgow Clan where he had 6 goals and 27 points in 48 starts.

Except for a 5 game stint last season at Vienna Capitals, the 6 foot, 190lb skater spent the last pair of seasons at ECHL Tahoe Knight Monsters where he posted 12 goals and 44 assists in 118 games.

“Nate had an excellent season at Glasgow when he had his first tour of our league a few years ago,” said head coach Paul Dixon.

“He is a Right handed shot Defenceman who can move the puck and we think his overall game will be a help in improving our Defensive units.  He is only 28 but comes in as an experienced pro player and we are looking forward to the impact that we know he will have on our club, game in and game out.”

Adam Long will return for a sixth season as part of a three man netminding group.

The 30 year old appeared in one game last season without allowing a goal on seven shots over 18 minutes.

The Crewe, GB native arrived in time for the 21-22 campaign after the 19-20 set with Manchester Storm and the 20-21 pandemic schedule at NIHL Haringey Huskies.  He has iced in 139 minutes of Flames action across his first five terms.

“Adam fills a very difficult role where he knows ice time will be limited,” explained Paul Dixon, “and he takes a fully professional approach to that in training and in games.”

“He has been a great teammate, and we appreciate the way he handles and important role with the club.”

Canadian forward Brett Neumann will join the Flames when the new campaign gets underway.

The 5’10”, 175lb skater had 28 goals and 49 points across 65 Glasgow Clan starts in league, cup and playoffs last season.  His Scottish foray was not his first in EIHL after spending the 22-23 and 23-24 terms at Sheffield Steelers where he was on hand for the Grand Slam haul in the 2nd half of his stay.

The 27 year old broke into pro hockey with AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2020-2021 when he iced 4 times before spending the bulk of the schedule with ECHL Allen Americans where he had 8 goals and 8 assists in 25 outings.

In five seasons of Canadian Jr hockey, Neumann racked up 128 goals and 244 points in 318 games with Erie Otters, Kingston Frontenacs, and Oshawa Generals.

“We have liked the way Brett plays from the moment he came in the league,” said Paul Dixon.

“He is a good skater and has a goal scoring knack.  He had a lot of success with Steelers. He was a big part of them running the table on the trophy selection a few years back, and we are looking forward to bringing his talent into our line-up.”

Josh Waller

Following career high offensive output, Great Britain national team forward Josh Waller will be back in Flames kit to start the 26-27 term. The 26 year old finished second in team goals and fourth in points thanks to 25 of the former and 49 of the latter.

After three seasons at Cardiff Devils, the former Guildford Junior member re-joined the club during the 2024-2025 campaign. In 243 career Flames starts, Waller has 44 goals and 61 assists for 105 points.

In country colours, not including his current stint at the World Championships, the native of Reading has 40 caps at senior level.

“Josh is an Elite talented forward,” explained Paul Dixon. “This season there was a lot of growth to his game and it came through in the form of a nearly 50 point season right near the top of our team points list.  We were pleased to see his success, and we are glad he has opted to remain with us for the coming schedule.”
