Notice: Guildford Lions’ Torchlight Procession And Fireworks Fiesta

Guildford Lions’ annual torchlight procession and fireworks display will take place this year on Saturday, November 3.

The torchlight procession will leave Guildford High Street at 7pm.

Torches will be sold between 6pm and 7pm on the High Street and the mayor will address the crowd at 6.45pm.

Torches will cost £5 and entry to the display will be by donation of £5 per person, or £10 per family.

London Road (between the A25 roundabout and York Road/Waterden Road), Nightingale Road and Lido Road will be closed between 6.50pm and 9pm. Traffic diversions will be in place and residents-only access. plus disabled parking access to Guildford High School in London Road, will be allowed, but strictly controlled.

For crowd safety reasons, random bag searches will be in place and visitors are asked not to arrive at the park with large bags wherever possible.

Free car parking will be available at Allianz Insurance Plc on Ladymead, at Guildford Spectrum and at Guildford College in Stoke Road. Disabled parking will be available at Guildford High School.

In Stoke Park, Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon will be on site commentating from 6.30pm, with the procession arriving at the park between 7.30pm and 7.45pm and the display starting at 8pm.

All profits will be used by Guildford Lions Club to support local good causes.
