Notice: Guildford u3a – Group Enrolment Day

Guildford Area u3a (motto: learn, laugh, live) will be holding its Group Enrolment Day on Tuesday August 22 at the Spectrum Leisure Centre.

Come along and find out what groups could be right for you. Want to learn or improve your foreign language skills? Spanish is very popular. Or develop your artistic side from a dozen arts and crafts groups. Got some spare energy? Why not try one of the many walking groups, or table tennis or badminton?

With over 100 groups there is bound to be something to appeal to anyone who is retired or no longer working full-time.

The enrolment event takes place in Arena B on the lower floor of the Centre, from 2.00 to 3.30 pm. It is the ideal opportunity to find out more about the u3a and talk to the group leaders.

A year’s membership to Guildford Area u3a is only £30 and this entitles you to join as many groups as you can fit into your diary.

Having seen a u3a group advertising it was having a guest speaker on a particular subject which interested me I went to the meeting where as a non-member I wasn’t made welcome especially when at the end they found that I knew about aspects of the subject than the speaker. It’s the 60th Anniversary of the Great Train Robbery this August and I’ve learned more since!
