Two titans of the Guildford music scene are joining forces on Saturday, November 20 for the first classical concert at G Live since the pandemic began.
Brahms’ Symphony No 1 and his Ein Deutches Requiem will be a return to the concert stage for both Guildford Symphony Orchestra and Guildford Choral.
It will be almost two years to the day after their previous concert, celebrating the GSO’s centenary with a sell-out performance of Beethoven’s Choral Symphony, in 2019.
The orchestra and choir first collaborated nearly 100 years ago and the two current conductors, Darrell Davison and Jonathan Willcocks, have known each other since student days, so this is a terrific joint venture at an important moment.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.Tickets cost from £15 to £25. Under 25s are half price. Under 16s and wheelchair companions are free.
