The Old Godhelmian Association (OGA) recently held a reunion to celebrate 90 years since the foundation of Godalming Grammar School.
It took place at Godalming College on October 9, followed by an evening get-together at The Inn on the Lake, Godalming.
This celebration had been postponed from last year because of the Covid pandemic and a Zoom reunion was substituted.
Over 100 people attended the event which included a tour of the main building and grounds, an exhibition of memorabilia, a three-course lunch and the opportunity to have both real and virtual (Zoom) meetings with school friends.
The OGA is in the process of writing a book with the working title, Godalming Grammar: A School on a Hill. A selection of articles for the first edition was displayed at the reunion.
The comedian, writer and Old Godhelmian, Ben Elton, will be producing a preface and the author, Louis de Bernières, has written a chapter about his memories of Godalming town.
The OGA is seeking a sponsor to help with the publication. Anyone who has any interesting information and photos about the school could send them to Annette Ettorre
(annette.ettorre@gmail.com).
