Notice: RASASC Seeks Volunteers

Published on: 10 Apr, 2017

RASASC – Rape And Sexual Abuse Support Centre – is a charity, established in 1992, which aims to support all male and female survivors of rape and sexual abuse in Surrey and the surrounding areas.

Often there is no one for a raped or sexually abused person to turn to, no one with whom to share their feelings.   Caring partners or family members have difficulty understanding and coping with the aftermath.

Experience has shown it’s easier to talk to a skilled person – someone who can be relied upon to listen carefully and empathise with the caller, without making judgements. Someone who can speak in a way that will not re-traumatise the survivor.

RASASC is currently recruiting qualified counsellors to work on a voluntary basis in their Guildford or Leatherhead hubs. This is an opportunity for counsellors to provide long-term therapy for up to two years.

If you can spare three hours on either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening between 6pm and 9pm, please forward your CV to admin@rasasc-guildford.org.
