The Mayor of Guildford’s Christmas Concert takes place on Sunday, December 16, at Holy Trinity Church, High Street, Guildford, commencing at 7pm.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Guildford, this annual concert is now in its 67th year and will once again feature Guildford’s Vivace Chorus, under the baton of their musical director Jeremy Backhouse, as well as seasonal readings by members of the choir.
Besides all the usual well-known hymns and carols, the Vivace Chorus will also be performing seasonal works by David Willcocks, John Rutter, Bob Chilcott and Will Todd.
Every year the Mayor’s concert attracts capacity audiences and raises much-needed funds for local charities, supported by the Mayor of Guildford during his mayoral year.
The charity benefiting from this year’s concert will be The Mayor’s of Guildford’s Local Distress Fund, which provides assistance for local people who struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis.
There will be a retiring collection for the mayor’s personal chosen charity, the Guildford Young Carers Fund.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for children under 12, and are available in advance from Guildford’s Tourist Information Centre at 155, High Street, or by calling 01483 444334, or at the door at the concert on the night.
Tickets can also be booked online by clicking here.
Seasonal refreshments will be available during the interval.
