We had two of these stolen from our garden in West Horsley a few years ago. The Police were not interested in going to the breakers’ yards to find them.

The theft followed a previous loss of small bronze statuary in the garden a year before, when the lions were kicked, you could see the muddy footprints.

A year before that, some disreputable characters told the gardener that it was all arranged to take away some items from the front garden,(which it was not), including a large animal feed bin, so they then had a chance to look round as see what they would come back for.
