Police Bail For Councillor Extended Again

Cllr Monika Juneja has had her police bail extended for a second time this morning (Jul 29). The bail now runs to August 7th.

The extension is understood to have been necessary for certain enquiries to be completed.

Cllr Juneja was arrested on May 7 on suspicion of committing the criminal offences of wilfully pretending to be a barrister, making and using false instruments, and misconduct in a public office. She was further arrested for fraud offences when she was interviewed by officers on 20 June 2014.

Ms Juneja is a Conservative borough councillor for Burpham. She is also the lead councillor for planning and has become prominent while progressing the draft Local Plan through its evidence gathering, draft and consultation stages. She is also the deputy leader of the Conservative Group at Millmead council offices.
