Ross Macpherson.

A violent criminal with connections to Guildford is being sought by Sussex Police. 22-year-old Ross Macpherson, formerly of Shoreham-by-Sea, is wanted for recall to prison for breaching the conditions of his prison licence.

He was sentenced to five years in a young offenders institute in 2006 for stabbing a then 17-year-old male in the stomach several times in Worthing.

In 2010 he was given a concurrent sentence of 33 months for assaulting two members of staff during his time in custody. He was released on licence back in April 2012 and has been managed by Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust, under MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements).

Detective Chief Inspector Pierre Serra from West Sussex Specialist Investigations said: “Macpherson is a dangerous and violent individual and we are focussing our resources to try and find him as soon as possible.

“He may be in possession of a bladed weapon and I would therefore urge members of the public to not approach him but call police immediately if they see him.”

Macpherson, who has connections to Worthing, Shoreham as well as Guildford, is described as 5ft 10in, of slim athletic build with dark blue eyes and was last seen wearing dark jeans, a blue T-shirt and a dark coloured jumper.

If you have any information as to his whereabouts please call 101 quoting Operation Marshall or serial 1923 2/5 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
