Surrey Police BadgeGolf venues and their members are urged to remain vigilant following a number of incidents of suspicious activity in the Guildford area.

Two recent events have raised concerns that these locations are being targeted by offenders and officers would like members and staff to report any unusual behaviour to police immediately.

Earlier this month a golf club in Godalming was broken into and several items including golfing equipment and clothing were taken. A couple of days later a handbag was stolen from a car parked at a golf club in Puttenham.

Detective Constable Nick Ring, said: “I would urge those who visit golf venues to remain vigilant a report and suspicious activity to police or a member of staff.

“At this stage in the investigation we believe these incidents are linked and it could be possible that the offenders have visited other similar sites in the county.
