Popular Footpath to Town Centre Closed

A footpath by the side of the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, part of a popular pedestrian route into the town centre, has been temporarily closed to allow telecommunications work.

The path was closed by order of Surrey County Council over the weekend (November 24/25) and is not expected to reopen until tomorrow (November 28).

One local resident, who regularly uses the route, said: “There should have been better signage to warn people.

“The signs on the Millmead end are okay, but really, coming from the town, there needs to be a sign at the top of Mill Lane where a decision to use a diversion route needs to be taken.”
