To mark the occasion, young people from the charity halow, staff and volunteers spent a day fundraising and promoting the charity’s work and services to customers at the Worplesdon Road, Guildford, store.

On hand was halow’s mascot, Hector the bear, who met customers, posed for photos and handed out leaflets and stickers to those making donations to the charity.

Store manager Paul Mullins said: “ It was a brilliant start to our partnership with halow and a great turn out of support from well wishers.

“We all enjoyed the day inside and outside the store and attracted a lot of positive feedback from customers – Hector the halow bear in particularly was a big hit with the children!

“We hope this is the start of a longstanding relationship with halow and would like to wish everyone involved with the charity the very best for the future.”

halow is committed to supporting young people with a learning disability to have the same life choices and chances as any other young person.

The charity aims to put young people in the driving seat and help them take control of their own lives by providing opportunities and support to make and meet friends through social activities, build confidence and life skills, and access meaningful work and homes of their own.
