Saturday’s Swap Shop Draws A Crowd!

The swap shop held at the Park Barn Community Centre on Saturday, February 22, drew a large crowd – of not only local people, by some travelling from as far as Farnham and Ash.

Have a good rummage among the items.

There was a great atmosphere as the items were brought into the hall. People then had time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before the swapping began at noon.

Soon the piles of clothes, bric-a-brac, toys and books disappeared! At the end of the morning the items left, which didn’t amount to a lot, were collected by Guildford Borough Council’s cleansing department.

Community warden Tracy James with Shirley West who was delighted to get a small pushchair for her grand-daughter to play with.

Joining In! project co-ordinator David Rose and community wardens Tracy James and Andy Coumbe thank Rosemary and Derek Taylor and their team of volunteers who organised the event and worked so hard on the day to make it all run smoothly. It is hoped that another will be arranged for the autumn.
