In the three years since it began, the Guildford Seedbank Seed Swap has doubled its footfall.
Last Sunday (February 25) 238 keen gardeners were in attendance at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall, just off the High Street. 651 packets of seeds were swapped or purchased for 50p to add to the thousand or so already provided by the Seedbank.
It had been hoped to hold the event at Zero Carbon’s new premises just around the corner but it is still not quite ready to open.

Despite having to change its venue at the last minute, the Seed Swap’s growing reputation ensured a really good attendance and a record number of people signed up to stay in touch on the email mailing list.
A spokesperson said: “It’s easy to get in contact to see what’s going on by signing up on guildfordseedbank@gmail.com or following us on our Facebook or Instagram pages.
“Look out for seed swap outlets in local libraries, follow us for other local events, and we’ll see you at next year’s end-of-February Seed Swap!”
