Look Fabulous Forever is a beauty brand with makeup and skincare specifically for mature faces, eyes and lips.
And now the full range of Look Fabulous Forever (LFF) makeup and skincare is available from its shop in Guildford. It is also offering makeovers in store for £50 which is redeemable against spend.
Caroline Geraerts, the manager of the new shop, said: “It’s a great way to refresh your look, get some advice or even prepare for a special event.”
The Guildford Dragon NEWS interviewed the founder, Tricia Cusden, and heard about the amazing story of the brand that only launched five years ago.
Tricia, who is 71 and does look fabulous, said that she got very frustrated that the beauty industry was only interested in younger women. She said: “I was resentful to be only offered anti-aging therapies. I didn’t necessarily want to look younger.”
She carried out research into what was available and did a couple of videos on YouTube and it became an international business overnight. In 2014, LFF came second in the Guardian’s Best Start Up awards and won the Google Digital Achiever of the Year the following year.
The real breakthrough came in 2015 when she appeared on BBC TV’s Breakfast. Tricia said: “Our website nearly crashed. Orders came in like a tsunami.”
The business now has 12 full time staff including Tricia’s daughters, Anna Cusden who is the PR consultant and Suzy Stern as the operations director.
And celebrity recognition of the brand has continued. Tricia and her daughters were invited to the Oscars in 2018 because LFF products were in the official goody bags. They even attended Sir Elton John’s charity party after the awards ceremony. Tricia said: “How could we have imagined that five years ago.”
LFF opened a pop-up shop in Wimbledon in 2018 when Tricia noticed that there were some empty shops. It had 100 bookings before it even opened.
That success has continued with the Guildford shop with strong bookings already.
Caroline Geraerts said: “We have always had a lot of customers in the Guildford area, so we’re very excited to be opening our second shop here so we can help even more older women to look and feel fabulous!
“Most of our makeup artists are locally based. We selected them due to their talents as makeup artists but also because they are all older women themselves and they understand the challenges of knowing what makeup works well for older skin.”
You can make a booking by contacting Caroline Geraerts on 0808 1687447 or by emailing info@lookfabulousforever.com or just drop in at the Look Fabulous Forever shop at 3 Market Street, Guildford, GU1 4LB.
But a last word from Tricia Cusden. “Retirement is an arbitrary date when people think that we should do less. We are sold the story of feebleness and decline for when we get older. But the opposite is true. I am so much happier now, I have things in perspective.”
