Brillen Opticians is offering “a unique experience with remote eye testing” said Hafiz Usman, store manager at its new branch in White Lion Walk, Guildford.
He said: “It offers a safe environment for Covid spacing. And in the near future, we will be doing digital face measurements to make sure the glasses people choose fit well and suit their specific face shape.”
With the latest technology in the shop, the eye test is carried out by an optician remotely. Your health check is carried out by an optician in the shop on the collection day.
This gives the shop, newly opened in early October, flexibility. Assistant manager Natasha Colbert said: “There’s no waiting for appointments at Brillen. Generally we can do walk in appointments for eye tests.
“You can also book online and you will usually get an appointment to suit your schedule. If you buy your glasses from us, the eye test is free.”
Hafiz and Natasha were both enthusiastic about the new shop. They said: “Brillen is a German company, part of SuperVista. All the lenses come from Germany with a turn around of about two weeks. Business has been steady and it’s getting busier.”
Hafiz added: “Brillen does their own brand frames that are very cost effective and competitively priced.
“Two sets of custom-made varifocal glasses are only £139 or two custom-made premium single vision for only £89.
“Customers who don’t want an eye test can bring their own prescription and we will will dispense their glasses as normal.”
Brillen Opticians is in Unit 23 White Lion Walk, Guildford GU1 3DW. Open Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
