A new shop, Time Watch Repair, opened in Quarry Street, Guildford on Monday, January 10.
Owner Milad Rakian said it has been a good start in the new shop. He said: “Quarry Street is a perfect location for me. There’s plenty of pedestrians passing by and we get noticed by the cars as well.”
He has been doing watch repairs for 10 years, first for a big company but, motivated to be his own boss, he opened a shop in Windsor.
He said he was proud to be qualified with the British Horological Institute and said the repairs tended to be with “high end watches such as Ebel, Raymond Weil, Omega and Tag”.
And, as if on cue, a customer came into the shop with a request for a quote on a repair on a Cartier watch. “I’ve been waiting for this shop to open,” said customer Deborah, with the enquiry on her husband’s watch.
Milad said: “We do battery replacements, including reseal and pressure testing on site, services, straps replacements and bracelet adjustments.
“Please drop in for a free estimate for all repairs. That option is really useful for the mechanical and automatic watch repairs where the price may not be so obvious.”
