Civil engineering contractor T. J. Hunt has officially opened its new head office development in Gravetts Lane, Worplesdon.
The ceremony was jointly undertaken by the chairman of Worplesdon Parish Council, Dr Paul Cragg, and Guildford Borough Councillor, Bob McShee.
The construction of the new premises commenced in 2014 and now provides T. J. Hunt’s employees with an energy efficient building using the latest technology.
The company, which was founded in 1978, employs about 35 staff and is one of the largest employers in Worplesdon.
Cllr Bob McShee said: “It is encouraging to see a successful business in the rural economy, which is in accord with the Guildford green paper of economic growth and enterprise in rural communities.
“T. J. Hunt should be congratulated on investing in its new venture at a time of uncertainty in the building industry.”
T. J. Hunt supplies specialist services to both public and private sectors in Surrey and surrounding counties including London. Regular clients include Surrey County Council, Runnymede Borough Council, Surrey & Borders NHS Trust, the National Trust, Surrey Wildlife Trust, the University of Surrey, and Carillon plc.
