A support service based in Guildford that helps young people in need is one of the winners in Surrey County Council’s 2023 Stars in Surrey awards.

The award for Outstanding Customer Service was presented to HOPE Guildford, a multi-agency service for young people aged 11 to 18 years.

The awards were presented at G Live in Guildford and are an opportunity for Surrey County Council staff to come together and show their appreciation for those who provide tireless services to Surrey and the people who live and work here.

The awards cover a range of categories including Excellence in Customer Service, Championing of Surrey County Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion values, as well as an award for proactive environmental work.

While most of the awards recognise Surrey County Council staff and are nominated internally, the Community Hero Award, the Greener Future Champion Award, the Team Award for Outstanding Customer Service and Frontline Worker of the Year Award celebrated a Surrey resident or worker, and were chosen by residents, businesses, or other organisations, following a public campaign.

Winners included teams and individuals who do outstanding work on behalf of the people of Surrey who look after young people in care, help elderly people live at home for longer, keep Surrey’s libraries thriving and encourage more people to access the countryside.
