The Guildford Dragon NEWS site was back online after a break in service lasting 20 hours.
Investigations are ongoing as to the cause but in an update this morning, it was thought it was unlikely to be a targetted attack and a “certificate file expiry” could be the issue. We are waiting for more information.
Dragon editor Martin Giles said: “We apologise to all our readers for the break in service.”
The site problem was first noticed about 6am on Sunday, April 4 and The Dragon was back as a “fully functional site” at 2am the next day.
Technicians from Delivered Social who host The Dragon site were mobilised and worked through the day and night to solve the issue.
A number of Dragon readers had emailed to make enquiries about the problem.
The Guildford Dragon NEWS has been online for over ten years and “downtime” has been rare.
