The Enterprise of Silent Pool Distillers Recognised with Queen’s Award

Following the success of winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise HRH Duke of Gloucester visits Silent Pool Distillery to unveil a plaque to commemorate the distillery’s achievement. The Duke of Gloucester is centre to the right is Ian McCulloch. Kesang Wangchuk, in traditional Bhutanese clothing, is a biodiversity specialist, who has been working with Silent Pool Distillers on the launch of their new Black Juniper Gin.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise was presented to Silent Pool Distillery in the Surrey Hills by the Duke of Gloucester when he visited on March 28.

The Duke met the local distillery team and founder, Ian McCulloch to give him the award, in the International Trade Category.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux, read the citation scroll which the Duke then presented to Ian McCulloch.

As well as learning about the 24 botanicals used in Silent Pool Distiller‘s flagship gin, the Duke even ran his own bottle of Silent Pool Coronation Expression Gin through the bottling line on site.

The eye-catching Silent Pool Gin, a brand now known internationally.

Ian McCulloch said, “We are honoured to have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, recognising our growth internationally.

“Our team works tirelessly to create the outstanding spirits Silent Pool Distillers is famed for and it’s a privilege to be able to share the product with customers all over the world. We look forward to growing our international footprint even further and bringing luxury English spirits to more people across the globe.”

Silent Pool Gin is currently exported to more than 45 countries and has most recently launched in Australia and Japan.
