Tributes Paid by Families to East Clandon Road Casualties

The families of two men who died in a collision in Epsom Road, East Clandon, on August 21, have paid tribute to them this week.

Officers were called to Epsom Road just after 11pm on Friday, August 21, following a report of a collision involving a white Seat Leon, a black Seat Leon and a grey Seat Leon.

Sadly, the driver of the white Seat, a man in his late teens, and the passenger, a man in his early 20s, died at the scene.

The men who died have been named as Joshua Farris, 19, and Max Redding, 19, both from Woking.

The family of Joshua have paid tribute to him following his tragic death.

They said: “Joshua was a much-loved son, grandson and brother, and our lives will never be the same without him. At just 19 years old, he had his whole future ahead of him.

“He was an apprentice mechanic who was passionate about his work and took great pride in learning his trade.

“Joshua had a kind and thoughtful nature and would do anything for anyone. He was always willing to help others, whether family, friends or someone in need, and he never expected anything in return. He brought so much joy to the people around him and was loved by everyone who knew him.

“His caring personality, loyalty and willingness to put others before himself made him a truly special young man.

“The loss of Joshua has left a huge hole in our hearts. While we are devastated by his passing, we will always cherish the memories we shared with him and the happiness he brought to our lives. We would like to thank everyone for their kindness, support and condolences during this incredibly difficult time.

“Joshua will be deeply missed every day, but he will never be forgotten.”

Paying tribute to McKenzie Graham (Max) Redding, his family said:

“As parents, we cannot put into words how heartbroken we are at the loss of our beloved son, Max.

“His life was tragically cut short far too soon, and the loss we feel is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, work colleagues and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

“Max was a brilliant sportsman. He took part in gymnastics and trampolining, competing in numerous tournaments, before going on to develop a real passion for rugby. Whatever Max chose to do, he threw himself into it, whether it was sport, his work or something he simply enjoyed – he always gave it everything he had.

“Max loved life and lived it to its fullest. Since his passing, the messages and tributes we have received have shown us just how many lives he had touched. We have heard from so many friends about the kindness and support Max showed them, particularly during difficult times in their own lives.

“Knowing how loved he was, and hearing the difference he made to so many people, has made us incredibly proud of the young man he became.

“Max was a much-loved son, family member, friend and colleague. He leaves behind an enormous space in all our lives. He will be loved and remembered always.

“We would like to thank our family, Max’s friends and everyone who has reached out or supported us during this incredibly difficult time.”
