A self-funded research study is recruiting local participants in Guildford throughout June to test a pioneering textile technology designed to support wellbeing.

There are three scientists I’m working closely alongside to run a series of double-blind scientific trials during June, in central Guildford. These trials will evaluate the effects of my wearable technology on both mental and physiological wellbeing, with the aim of publishing a paper and securing future funding for a clinical study and/or investment.

The trials will take place in the New House Art Space in Guildford.

While I’m not a scientist by training, I was honoured to receive an InnovateUK “Women in Innovation” Award for this development. This led to invitations to present at The GREAT Festival of Innovation at the British Embassy in Hong Kong, and to collaborate with several research institutes and labs around the UK.

Earlier pilot studies showed promising results and helped us refine the next steps. Now we are seeking volunteers for a controlled trial to help test the latest version of the technology.

Due to the nature of the trial, I can’t share exact details, but I can tell you this:

    • It’s non-invasive, drug-free, digital-free, and made from textiles
    • It’s discreet, worn close to the body, and designed to gently support personal wellbeing
    • Each trial session will take about 2 hours and your participation could be instrumental in helping bring this innovation to clinical study and wider application
    • You will naturally be notified of the outcome in due course.
