Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and its Mill Studio are gearing itself up for a busy December with a number of productions to delight all ages.

The Lark is being performed by the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre.

At the Mill Studio from Wednesday to Saturday, December 12 to 15, the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre, Interval, presents The Lark. It’s the timeless story of the glory of Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orléans, and her courage and strength.

In The Night Before Christmas, (December 16 to 30, Mill Studio) Emma stares out of the window, hugs her teddy and waits excitedly for the morning, while in the corner a little mouse called Eddie can’t understand why only humans are allowed to celebrate and get presents. So, he sets off in search of Father Christmas to find out for himself. This delightful production is suitable for children aged between three and seven years.

Clive Francis returns to the Mill Studio with his highly acclaimed and hugely popular RSC performance as the misanthropic Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, from December 20 to 29.

Bringing to life a whole host of Dickensian characters from the spectral Jacob Marley to the warm and loving Bob Cratchit and his son Tiny Tim, not forgetting, of course, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, this show is the perfect way to enter into the Christmas spirit!

The Night Before Christmas is ideal for young children.

And of course on the main stage at the Yvonne Arnaud itself there’s the theatre’s panto Aladdin, starring Susie Blake as the genie, Kit Heskith-Harvey as Abanazar, Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon as the Emperor of China, Royce Mills as Widow Twankey, and Emma Thornett as Aladdin.

It runs from Friday, December 7, to Sunday, January 13.

Clive Francis’ A Christmas Carol is wonderful. He’s such a talented actor. I’ve been several times, it’s a really good start to Christmas, not to be missed.
