The Caracoli Cafe has closed its doors for business at the end of 2018, but only temporarily.
Located on the second floor of the Steamer Trading Cookshop in the High Street, the access stairs are roped off and a sign says “Café closed”.
The Caracoli website says “We sadly said goodbye to our Guildford and Farnham stores at the end of 2018. We have decided to focus on strengthening our core business, above all our flagship store in Alresford, along with our successful Haslemere branch.”
However, The Guildford Dragon NEWS today spoke to Eloise Flinter who was appointed as the General Manager for Caracoli Ltd only two days ago.
She said: “The Guildford branch of Caracoli is temporarily closed. We will be announcing further news shortly.”
Ms Flinter declined to comment further when asked to give reasons for the closure.
Caracoli, which opened in Guildford in 2012, also has branches in Haslemere and New Alresford. Coffee shops have been one of the few growth areas in Guildford’s and the UK’s retail sector in recent years.
