The Castle Bowlers scraped a win by the narrowest of margins over Hindhead on Saturday 40-39. The result was achieved despite a terrific performance by T. Sampson who was loaned to Hindhead to make up their numbers. For once, despite some grey clouds, it was a pleasant summer’s afternoon, weather wise.

Midway, both teams enjoyed a delicious salad provided by Derek and Mary Redgwell. After the game the CGBC players watched from the green as planes did their aerobatics in the distance over Loseley Park.

Playing for CGBC were: D. Longman, H. Vogel, T and V Smith, C and D Summerhayes, S and B West and S Roberts.

Hindhead was represented by M, A., and P. Babb, A and J Hill, J Churcher, J Plaistow, and Lance.
