Police officers were called to a large fight in a Guildford back street in the early hours of Saturday morning and are now appealing for witnesses.
A report, said to have been written by Guildford Street Angels, says that the affray involved more than 20 males and that fencing, a metal ladder and a glass were thrown and that some of those involved had knives.
Guildford Street Angels have been asked to confirm the report was theirs.
The report said: “While we were calling police, a girl approached us to say two of her friends had been attacked as the fight started and were recovering outside Subway [sandwich shop].
“A good police response brought seven police cars, who made arrests and found knives and took statements.
“The girl had been grabbed around the neck, her boyfriend intervened to protect her and was put in a neck lock and punched in the face leading to injuries, including several lacerations round one eye, requiring treatment by our first-aider. We advised going to A&E to be checked but felt an ambulance was not needed.”
Today (September 18), Surrey Police said: “Officers were called to Fays Passage in Guildford shortly before 2am on Saturday, 14 September, following reports of a fight in progress between a large group of people at the location.
“Four men were arrested for the following offences:
“They have all been released on bail.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we ask that anyone with any information that might be able to assist please contact us quoting PR/45240105286.”
