Coinciding with the start of National Lip-Reading Awareness Week, the Guildford Hard of Hearing Support Group moves to its new meeting place at St Catherine’s Village Hall, Chestnut Avenue, Guildford, on Monday, September 9.

Lip-reading is often referred to as the “third ear” It is an art which makes it so much easier to understand what others are saying, especially in noisy conditions.

Every meeting (two a month) starts with an hour’s lip-reading practice led by a qualified lip-reading tutor.

New members are alway welcome to go along and find out more about this skill.

The meeting on September 9 starts at 2pm, and after tea there will be a beetle drive.

The group regularly has a visiting speaker, and hosts other social events.
