It was estimated that around 200 were present.

It was estimated that around 200 were present.

From Peter Slade

Chairman of the  Guildford-Freiburg Association

It was great to be amongst the crowd in Tunsgate on Tuesday alongside Guildford’s mayor, GBC’s managing director and numerous councillors, as well as others to protest against the anti-foreigner sentiments that have been unleashed by the result of the EU Referendum.

It was very gratifying that such an event took place and I hope that it helped to reassure all our residents that have come from overseas that they are welcome here.

“I hope that it helped to reassure all our residents that have come from overseas that they are welcome here.”

I wish. The whole reason the event happened is because there is a good reason for them not to feel welcome here. I hope that it at least helped reassure them that enough of us are happy they are here and want them to stay, and that not everyone is against them.
