In response to: Listing the Debenhams Building Would Not Be a Good Idea

I find myself in complete agreement with Peta Malthouse. We spent several years trying to get hold of this site through discussions with M&G and directly with Debenhams and it is disappointing that the current administration failed to obtain the site or to do a deal with M&G who were also looking for renegotiation of the Friary Centre head lease.

But, we are where we are and this site is, in my opinion, an eyesore and could be so much more for Guildford. I hope that the development plan/masterplan for this site is exciting for Guildford. It does not need listing.
