In response to: Tory Leader Makes Bid for North Street Plan to Go Before the Full Borough Council

I don’t know or care about the party political ins and outs of this, but it does seem right, on general principles, that such a major decision as St Edwards’ North Street proposal should be taken by the full council.

The full council should take note of any non-political well-thought recommendation from the Planning Committee and only go against that recommendation for a clear good and well-argued reason. That of course is if the committee makes a clear recommendation by a large majority.

But if the Planning Committee is undecided or only has a narrow majority one way or the other, then it’s even more important for the full council to make a final decision.

    Yes, this is so important that it must go before go before the full council. It is more than just a planning issue.
