Guildford Beekeepers invite you to an evening event on Wednesday, December 1, when Professor Dave Goulson will give a talk based on his new book ‘Silent Earth, Averting The Insect Apocalypse’. The talk will take place at 7pm at the new RHS Wisley Hilltop Science Centre.
Professor Goulson will draw on the latest research and present a lecture about the current environmental issues facing our bees and insect populations. He will discuss what we can do to support them and enhance the environment they live in.
Dave Goulson is Professor of Biology at Sussex University and has published more than 300 articles on ecology and the conservation of bees, butterflies and other insects.
He founded the Bumblebee Conservation Trust in 2006 and is the recipient of multiple conservation awards and is also the author of eight books, bringing the subject of ecology to the wider community.
A signed copy of his new book will be available to purchase through the ticketing process and can be collected on the night.
This is an invitation to all Beekeeping Associations, Conservation Organisations and individuals who are concerned about our pollinators, the ecology and the environment.
The evening will run from 7pm until 10pm and will begin with complementary mulled wine and mince pies on arrival. The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session to conclude.
Tickets cost £20 and can be booked at https://www.trybooking.co.uk/BGDB.
