The River Wey continued to rise yesterday (January 5) and remained very high this morning, despite there being no further significant rainfall since Friday.
Water from the catchment areas to the west and south continued to pour into the River Wey from its tributaries.
Fortunately, the BBC’s weather forecast for the coming week is for drier but colder weather.
Not much room under the town bridge. It was timber from a nearby timber yard, that got jammed here in a 1900 flood, which caused the old town brisdge to collapse. Photo Ben Barton
