Youth charity Challengers is using a complimentary robotic cleaning service at its Guildford centre that allows staff to attend to other important work.
The charity, established in 1979, supports disabled children and young people between the ages of two and 25, offering them a space to have fun, meet friends and challenge impairments through play.
Volunteers and play workers would often have to do the vacuuming at the end of each day.
The problem was solved after a networking event at which Challenger’s chief executive officer Laura Sercombe met Michael Richardson, the managing director of The Perfect Little Company. He offered a free solution that would ensure Challengers’ vacuuming would be completed every night.
Challengers currently has four Abbees (commercial robotic vacuums) working at the premises in Stoke Park, Guildford.
The Perfect Little Company’s Michael Richardson said: “Challengers does fantastic work. It was a shame that the amazing support workers often had to stay late to complete cleaning tasks. It was a pleasure to offer some of our robotics to ensure the play areas were spick and span and ready for the next day.”
Formed in 2015, The Perfect Little Company is aiming to help people and companies benefit from new developments in robotics and currently provide robot commercial solutions to organisations such as Vodafone, the BBC, Credit Suisse, Birmingham Airport and others.
