Motorists might be surprised tomorrow to find the Onslow Street section of the gyratory closed at 8pm for resurfacing work.
The only warning sign that could be found on Sunday, August 7 had become detached so that only the reverse, blank side was visible to motorists heading towards the section from Woodbridge and York Roads.
Diversion signs for detours (see details below) sometimes several miles in length could be observed as far out from the town as Peasmarsh.
While the work is in progress the Onslow Street section will be closed from August 8-15 each night from 8pm to 6am and the Park Street section of the gyratory for the same ten hours from August 11-20. From August 11 to 15 both sections will be closed leaving only the Bridge section open.

Gillian Cameron who alerted The Dragon to the issue wrote: “I do not understand why county councillors have not notified the community, and lack of signage is very poor. Thanks Dragon for acting so swiftly.”
