Away We Go, Let the Vaccine Flow…

Many of those lucky enough to have received the Covid jabs lately might have felt joyful enough to break into song. But Brian O’Connell from East Clandon went a step further, he wrote a song and made a short video…

We asked Brian a few questions…

What gave you the inspiration to write the song and make the video clip?

I belong to a fantastic film-making club based in Farnham called Surrey Border Movie Makers.  Videos are much more difficult to do in lockdown and this was a little project using a green screen that would hopefully bring a chuckle as well as a “thank you” to our wonderful NHS.

I had my Covid jab over a week ago at G Live and was so impressed with all the NHS team as well as the fantastic volunteers giving up their time. The video might persuade some who are a bit hesitant to get the jab, and looks to the future when pubs will open and we can put all this behind us!

What has been the reaction?

There have been over 700 views on youtube over a short space of time and loads of “likes”.

Are you a professional musician/performer?

I am not a professional musician or performer but many years ago I enjoyed going to “open mic” nights and local folk clubs, and was once a folk tutor on a residential course.

My wife and I love to attend the Gavin Thomas evenings (as part of the audience) in Guildford and we are looking forward to them opening up.

What is your next project?

I have another feature film in mind and although the script has already been performed as a play it has yet to be made into a screenplay. I recommend any of your readers to get in touch with Surrey Border Movie Makers if they are interested in filmmaking.
