Sam Peters representing The Green Party in the Tillingbourne GBC by-election, to be held on October 20, is the second of the candidates to be interviewed by Martin Giles.
Sam, who came third behind the Conservatives and GGG in the county council election for the Shere division in May 2021 explains why he believes he could do a good job representing the ward alongside his Green party colleague Diana Jones who took her borough council seat from the Conservatives in May 2019.
He reports a generally positive response to his campaign on the doorstep and is hearing concerns about rising prices in this part of leafy Surrey despite it being an area most would regard as having an above-average level of affluence. It is the cost of living along with roads and traffic and housing development are the main three concerns of the residents he has spoken to.

Sam is unlikely to be in power at the same time as Diane for very long if he does win this seat, since rumour has it that Diane will not be standing again in May 2023.
