Flames recovered from an early two-goal hole by scoring six unanswered in the rest of the match to close out the Scottish road double with a 6-2 win at Glasgow Clan, bouncing back from a 10-2 drubbing by Fyfe Flyers on Saturday.
The result lifts the Guildford side up to third place in the standings but anything but a win would have been a poor result for the Flames.
The Clan has been suffering with poor performances this season losing all seven of their league matches. After the match it was announced that they had parted company with their coach.
Despite their form, Clan players Steven Seigo and Matt Spencer scored goals exactly 60 seconds apart in opening half of the first period putting Clan in a lead that carried into the middle set.
A Justin Ducharme goal at 23:02 cut Flames deficit in half and a Jack Jacome goal less than two minutes later had the clubs all square to begin the third.

Just under three minutes after re-start, Alex Lavoie bagged his first goal in Flames kit to set them to a lead they would not give back. Karl Boudrias added insurance in the 49th minute before a pair of late empty netters by Brett Neumann and Boudrias sealed the result.
Brad Arvanitis made 34 saves on 36 shots for Flames while Rasmus Tirronen stopped 20 of 24 for Clan.
“With the suspension to Dustyn from night before and the injuries at the back we were well short staffed on the blueline so it was a rather gutsy performance for those guys to do what they did in helping secure a result,” said coach Paul Dixon.
“We were obviously not happy with how it went the night before so grabbing a huge win on the road to put that fully behind us is a great result and makes the trip back a lot easier.”
