Easter Monday’s Evo-stik Southern League local derby match between Guildford City and Godalming Town ended in a 1 -1 draw, on a very cold and windy afternoon at the Spectrum Stadium, writes Brian Holt.
guildford-city-football-club-crestCity went ahead in the 35th minute when Jamie Thoroughgood headed in a free kick. They stayed in front until the 87th minute when Harris scored for Godalming Town.
In stoppage time City should have been awarded a spot kick for a clear handball in the penalty area, only for the referee to give a corner instead.
Final score: Guildford City 1 Godalming Town 1.
Attendance: 239.
