Three of the four MPs whose constituencies overlap Guildford Borough supported the government last night in its record defeat over the PM’s Brexit deal last night (January 15, 2019).

Only Jonathan Lord the MP for Woking joined the large majority of the House of Commons in voting down the deal by 432 to 202.

Guildford’s MP Anne Milton, Surrey Heath’s MP Michael Gove and Mole Valley’s MP Sir Paul Beresford all supported the government. Mr Gove and Ms Milton are government ministers. Michael Gove is the Secretary of State for environment, food and rural affairs and Anne Milton the Minister of State for skill and apprenticeships.

Milton and Beresford voted to Remain in the 2016 EU Referendum and Gove and Lord to Leave.
