Letter: There Is a Huge Difference in the Level of Customer Service on our Buses

In response to: Larger and Smaller Bus Companies Cannot Be Compared

I feel there is a huge difference in customer service by the bus drivers of the different companies and their attitudes to their passengers.

A big thumbs up to Arriva and SafeGuard with them welcoming the passengers on-board with a smile or even a jocular greeting, if you are a regular passenger and well known to the driver.

For me, they ask me which stop I need and wait for me to be seated before they pull out into traffic. I press the bell for my stop and when the bus approaches the stop I need the driver called out my stop is coming up.

The Care & Consideration with a smile badge

I need to be seated until the bus has stopped and the driver to “kneel” the bus so it is as close to the kerb as possible. They even tell me how far away I am from the path so I can step out safely. Thank you SafeGuard

I have a white stick and I wear my “Care & Consideration With a Smile” badge when out and about. Arriva are brilliant, SafeGuard drivers are getting there.
