Motorcyclist Who Died in Collision is Named

The motorcyclist who died following a collision on the A323 near Fairlands last Wednesday (July 11) has been named as Guildford resident Joanna McDonald.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal accident on the A323 Aldershot Road near Fairlands on Wednesday morning, July 11.

In a statement, Surrey Police say that Mrs McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision which occurred at about 8.25am in Aldershot Road near the junction with Gravetts Lane. The incident involved a red Triumph motorcycle and a blue Mercedes A class people carrier.

The female driver of the Mercedes was treated at the Royal Surrey County Hospital for minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Surrey Police’s Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922, quoting reference P12198189.

Floral tributes have been laid on a bench near to the scene of the collision near the junction of Gravetts Lane and Aldershot Road.
