Masterclasses will be on offer for Nespresso club members

At 9am today, August 3 (2018), a new Nespresso “boutique” opened its doors in Guildford, inviting locals into a “sensory journey”.

As the brand opens its 46th branch within the UK and Ireland, Kevin Breese, retail manager, sees great potential in the town new retail centre at Tunsgate.

At a launch event, he said: “When retail is changing as much as it currently is, the more experiential customer service is important and I am excited about how great Guildford looks in terms of choice of brands, about its uniqueness in retail offering.”

Which food with which coffee, a subject explored by Nespresso

The store, with its new concept approach, hopes to create a different kind of shop than those already opened in London.

The redesign is intended to promote the “premiumness of the brand” and the Nespresso team hopes to engage differently with customers through free tastings for everyone and masterclasses for Nespresso’s members.

A white coffee with jelly beans, no wrong answer. These two don’t go together!

And the brand is determined to promote sustainability, something mentioned several times in the press preview yesterday. The shop’s design is meant to reflect this with table tops made of coffee bean granules and wood, used in flooring and shelving, taken from Nespresso’s afforestation programs.

Staff will be explaining to customers how the aluminium coffee capsules are being recycled and and the coffee used as fertilizer .

Encouraged by the success of the “pop-up” shop on Tunsgate Quarters first-floor level, the new shop hopes to entice more customers by making them discover the “right coffee” for them, allowing them to play with coffee machines and learn more about Nespresso’s coffee production and sourcing.

What has poor old Guildford done to have this dreadful stuff inflicted on it?
