Hunt For Attackers Who Assaulted Girl With A Crow Bar in Stoughton Recreation Ground

A teenage girl was hospitalised after being assaulted with a crow bar in Stoughton Recreation Ground on Saturday evening (January 9).

The girl suffered a head injury, a suspected broken nose, broken ribs and two black eyes as a result of the attack, which took place at about 7pm.

Surrey Police, who are appealing for witnesses, say the assault is alleged to have been carried out by three older girls and it is believed a number of people witnessed it.

The girl was treated at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford for her injuries.

PC Carina Jewell, who is investigating, said: “We were made aware of this assault after the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

“We have launched an investigation but unfortunately, we do not currently have much information.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed this vicious attack to contact us as a matter of urgency so that we can establish the circumstances of what has happened and identify those responsible.”
